Installing Reviews adds a badge called No Review to your ServiceM8. It comes with an icon of a star with a line through it, which you can change in ServiceM8 under Settings, Badges.

  • On a client card, none of that client’s jobs are asked about.
  • On a job, just that job is left out.

The badge is checked again just before each message goes. Badging a job while its request is waiting still stops it, and the job shows “Not sent: No Review badge” under Recent jobs.

Use it for

  • Subcontract work. When you work for a letting agent or facilities company, the person at the property is their customer, not yours. Put the badge on that company’s client card once and none of those jobs are asked.
  • Anyone who has asked not to be contacted. Badge their client card.

Never use it for

Skipping a customer because a job went badly, or because they might leave a poor review.

That’s review gating. Google removes reviews it finds were collected that way, and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act treats it as hiding negative reviews. Ask everyone, and if a poor review comes in, answer it with a calm, quick public reply. People reading your profile take more from how you handle a bad review than from the bad review itself.

A customer who wrote back unhappy

You don’t need the badge for this. If a customer replies to the review request, by text, email or WhatsApp, the reminders for that job stop by themselves. See what stops the reminders.
