When you install Reviews, ServiceM8 shows a list of what it’s asking to do. Here is what each one is for.

ServiceM8 asks to What Reviews does with it
Read your business details Your trading name for the messages, and your timezone so they go at sensible hours.
Read and update jobs Find jobs marked Completed.
Read job contacts, clients and client contacts Find the right person to ask: the contact at the property first, then the billing contact, then the client card.
Add job notes Note on the job when a customer opens the link, replies, or can’t be asked.
Read staff and schedule Kept for our own records only. Staff are never named in a message and never ranked.
Read job categories Describe the work in a drafted reply to a Google review, such as “the boiler service”.
Manage badges Create the No Review badge when you install, and check it before each message.
Add Inbox messages Tell you when someone opens the link, when a new Google review arrives, and send the Monday summary. It never reads your Inbox.
Read SMS and email history Spot a customer replying to the request, so no reminder goes to someone who has written back.
Send SMS and email Send the requests from your own ServiceM8 account, so they show in the job diary.

Everything stays tied to your account. Reviews never uses another business’s connection, and never touches jobs that aren’t marked Completed.

Reconnecting

When we add something that needs a new permission, ServiceM8 asks you to approve it once. Until you do, the add-on carries on with what it already has. If the Overview tab says “ServiceM8 isn’t connected”, our support team will help you reconnect.
