Reviews, as part of finishing the job

Reviews win trade work, and almost every business means to ask for them. Asking is the bit that slips, because it happens after the real job is done. ServiceHQ Reviews does the asking from inside ServiceM8, every time, and tells you when someone has gone to Google.

What it does

How it helps

a

Asks when the job is finished

Two hours after a job is marked Completed, the customer gets a text from your ServiceM8 account with a link straight to your Google review box. No mobile on file? It goes by email. Use ServiceHQ Chat and it can go from your WhatsApp number.

b

Follows up, then leaves them alone

Anyone who hasn't opened the link gets a nudge on day 3 and a last message on day 7. Opening the link or replying stops the reminders, and a customer who's been asked isn't asked again on the next job.

c

Knows when they've been to Google

When someone opens the link, a message lands in your ServiceM8 Inbox. Connect Google and new reviews are matched to the customers you asked, ticked off for you, and thanked.

d

Replies drafted, never posted for you

Every new review gets a reply written in your voice that mentions the work you did. You read it, change it if you like, and press Post. A low rating comes to your Inbox first, so someone can ring them.

e

Your reviews on your own website

Copy one line of code into your website and your latest Google reviews show there, every star rating included, updating as new ones come in.

f

A QR code for the van and the invoice

Print cards with your review QR code to leave on a job, or add it to paperwork. It goes straight to your Google review box.

How it works

Getting set up

  1. Press Install now. It opens ServiceM8, adds Reviews to your account and asks you to approve the access it needs.
  2. Open Reviews from the ServiceM8 menu and start the 7-day free trial.
  3. Connect your Google Business Profile, which fills in your review link for you, or paste the link yourself.
  4. Tick the box to confirm who requests go to, and switch it on. Jobs marked Completed from then on are asked about.

Needs ServiceM8 and a Google Business Profile. Texts go from your own ServiceM8 account and use your ServiceM8 SMS credits, which aren't included in the price. Sending by WhatsApp needs ServiceHQ Chat.

Worth knowing

Want to see it first? How it works, screen by screen.

Why it lives in ServiceM8

Trade businesses don’t skip asking for reviews because they don’t see the point. They skip it because the job ends, the van gets loaded, the next call is already waiting, and the ask never happens. A separate review tool has the same problem: it’s one more thing to log into.

So the asking is tied to the one thing every job already has, being marked Completed. Nobody has to remember, and the customer hears from you while the job is still fresh.

What it won’t do

It asks every customer the same way. There’s no “rate us first” step and no private feedback form that keeps unhappy customers away from Google, because Google removes reviews gathered that way and UK law treats it as hiding negative reviews. It never names your engineers, never offers anything in return, and never posts a reply on Google without a person pressing Post.
