Where it is stored

Messages, the photos customers send, and your business settings are stored in the UK or EU, with encrypted backups taken daily to storage in the EU.

Photos

Photos are attached to the job in ServiceM8, and once ServiceM8 confirms it holds a file we let our own copy go. ServiceM8 is the record. We do not keep a second permanent copy of your customers’ photographs sitting on our servers for no reason.

Chat history from your phone

If you brought your existing chats across on the “keep my app” route, that history is kept in the add-on so the conversation screen shows it. It is not pushed into ServiceM8: six months of old chat has no job to belong to, and hundreds of stale entries in your Inbox would bury the real ones.

Deleting one customer’s conversation

The bin button on that conversation. It removes what we hold.

Anything already saved onto a job stays in ServiceM8, because those are your business records and only you should decide about them. We are not going to reach into your ServiceM8 account and delete your job history because somebody asked us to.

Deleting your whole account

WhatsApp Settings, the Account tab, Delete this account. You do it yourself; you do not have to ask us and you do not have to wait for us.

Access stops immediately and everything is erased after seven days, so a mistake can be undone. If a subscription simply lapses we wait thirty days before erasing anything, so a missed payment never costs you your history.

Deleted data persists in backups for up to a further thirty days before those expire. It is not restored or used for anything in the meantime.

If you would rather we did it

Email us from the connected business’s address and we will. If one of your customers asks you to delete their conversation, you can do it yourself with the bin button. You do not need to involve us, and it is faster for them if you do not.
